How To Sit The Trot

How to sit trot

This is the most difficult skill for a horse rider to achieve. The trot is a two beat rhythm. The movement also has an elevation and a forward impulsion. The trot is very bouncy movment and very few riders can ride it. Amazingly the better the rider the less bouncy the trot and the horse will relax with a good rider and tighten the back with a poor rider.

How do you sit the trot?
As in all my posts and my teachings (Applied Posture Riding) deep core stability in the abdominal muscles is the key. In addition to this, co-ordinating the breathing pattern with the beat is important.

Learning pure pilates is a must. You can learn this with Applied Posture Riding. The function of using core stability doesn’t alwayscome naturally either. a strong personis not reasonably a good stable rider. To learn to use stability in the saddle
requires practice. A little exercise I use is the blind man posture.

Try this.
Be safe 1st.
Take your stirrups away.
Sit tall – close your eyes
Turn toes to nose and feel the walk beat (4 beat)
Now slightly lean backward – close your ankles and push into a slow jig.
8 – 10 steps walk
At the trot blow out with each step.
This will absorb the impact of the foot falls.

Learning to ride the sit trot is such an achievement. By following the simple exercise I have developed you will learn how to sit the trot. The program will teach you how to find, test and train the deep core muscles in your tummy. Then second part will teach you how to apply these in the saddle. This is a unique program unlike any other and following the simple time effeient movement patterns will turn you into a great rider.

Try it I know you will be come a better rider. For  more go to Applied Posture Riding
